This award, previously the Promising Projects Award, was established in 2002 by the Illinois Association for Gifted Children to provide monetary support for teacher designed projects that cultivate potential in young people with unique gifts, talents, or advanced learning needs, with a focus on opportunities for underserved populations (e.g., twice-exceptional, lower income, EL, etc.).
Eligible projects must be specifically designed and differentiated to meet the needs of advanced learners. The money may be used to purchase or pay for project related costs, including student materials, activity fees, speakers, etc.
One or more grants will be given each year, not to exceed a total dollar amount of $500.
Any current IAGC member may apply for the grant.
