Awards and Scholarships - *Nancy Heaton
1. Continue presenting recognition and compensation by offering the Carol Morreale Scholarship; The Nicholas Green Distinguished Student Award; Illinois Association for Gifted Children Scholarship; Ruth Wright Professional Development Scholarship; Promising Projects Award; and Distinguished Service Award
2. Review all awards and recognition with the goal of fine-tuning each one.
3. Increase awareness of scholarship opportunities.
4. Actively solicit funds for the continuation of the Carol Morreale Scholarship
Convention - *Bonnie Park and *Mary Ann Paradise (consultant)
1. Continue to offer an annual convention that encompasses best practice sessions in line with established standards for gifted education.
2. Action steps to accomplish this goal:

1. Coordinate the initiatives and operations of the corporation and present a slate of candidates for elections.

1. Align the IAGC Knowledge Assessment items with the CEC/NAGC Standards.
2. Create the list of supporting materials for each of the standards areas.
3. Disseminate the revised IAGC Standards that reflect minor changes made when the standards were aligned with the CEC/NAGC standards.
Springfield - *Jill Ko
1. Facilitate a visit to Springfield that includes students from across the state.

- Continue providing the leadership for IAGC
- Advocate for funding and an endorsement
- Increase effectiveness of website
- Ensure implementation of 2009-2014 Strategic Plan
- Clarify jobs and responsibilities
- Advance fundraising potential
- Update bylaws, policies and procedures
- Address issues as presented by legal advisors

1. Review policies and propose changes to the board of directors
2. Action steps to accomplish goal:
- Executive committee review policy during 2010-2011
- Policy changes are recommended to the board of directors
- The board of directors approves any policy changes
- Policy changes become effective once approved by the board
- All policies will have gone through the review process by December 2011
- Starting in 2012, one policy a quarter will be reviewed until all policies have been reviewed by December 2014
